Everything Olympic

As you may know, I absolutely LOVE the Olympics; I don't even want to admit how many hours I've dedicated to watching global competitions in the last week. My love for the Olympics, in addition to waiting for some of the pictures from my trip (ahem, Ian and Sarah... :) I've decided to dedicate my posts this week to the greatest sporting event that (only) happens once every four years. I'll be sharing some insights, theories, and anything Olympic related (I hope this doesn't drive anyone away).

I'm going to kick off the week with my top Olympic destinations after the jump...

This year marks the third time London has hosted the Summer games (an Olympic first), and it got me thinking of the other cities that have played host, and which I would most want to visit. Here are my top choices.

 1. Los Angeles - United States - 1984

It would be absolutely amazing to experience an Olympic game in your native country. The excitement, the pride, the unity. Man, it would be thrilling!

2. Paris, France - 1924

How beautiful to watch a rowing competition with the Eiffel Tower in the background? Yes, please!

3. Rio de Janeiro - 2016

Rio throws a killer party each year (hello, Carnival), so I image they are going to bring it BIG time in 2016.

4. Amsterdam, Netherlands - 1928
Amsterdam is next on my list of places to visit, so I think that may have influenced my vote a bit. :)

5. Rome, Italy - 1960

It would never, ever happen, but how incredible would it be to see the games in the Colosseum.

Which city would you most like to experience the Summer Olympic games?
